It's Coming.....!!

I'm SO SUPER EXCITED to announce that my new blog will be debuting TOMORROW!! I'm quite happy with everything Brock has done for me and totally appreciative for the hook-up from my good friend and fabulous photographer, [b]ecker...but more on that tomorrow! ;)
Brock designed Jessica Claire's Blog, [b]ecker's blog, Image is Found's Blog, so when he agreed to design mine, I knew I was in good hands. Here's a sneak peek at what's in store... ;)

Happy Mother's Day, Mama!

We sat next to each other in church this morning. She proudly sang with her eyes closed, basking in the adoration of her children. I held her right hand tightly and sang in hushed tones. I, apparently, did not inherent her vocal ability…I sing slightly better than my father, who’s sounds like Frosted Flakes’ Tony the Tiger when he sings.

Four years ago to the date, I sat in my car with JD and cried tears of desperation. Long sorrowful wails of one who is losing someone dear. We were buying last minute Mother’s Day gifts—decorative hats and beanies to cover my mother’s chemotherapy balding—but I truly believed it was our last holiday with her. I feared being alone on days like today. Days when children reflect and articulate how thankful they are to the woman who scraped the burned edges of morning toast, kissed band-aid covered fingers, and hid gas money in their wallet when she thought they weren’t looking. I feared never being able to truly show my mother how much I needed her. So I cried long sorrowful wails of one who is losing someone dear.

Today we sat next to each other in church and sang together. I held her tightly and prayed she knew how much I needed—no, how much I need--her. Later, we spent a lazy afternoon with the family enjoying lunch on an outside patio. Every year we make it a point to go around the table and say what we appreciate most about our mother. I try to put to my emotions into words, but I fear I do a lousy job. For everything she’s done for me, I’m thankful. For the woman I am, I’m indebted. For the wife I’ve become, I’m appreciative. And for the child I always desire to be…well, I’m working on that one ;)

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!

I love you to the moon and back.

The Bride and Bloom Party

On Monday night, JD and I headed to Cooper Design Space in Los Angeles for Bride and Bloom Magazine’s 1st Anniversary Launch Party. We had a great time meeting up with old friends and making new ones…but I don’t have any pictures to show because my not-so-subtle hints at getting a new point&shoot camera haven’t worked. Hmmm, maybe I need to change my strategy.

MEMO
TO: Everyone willing to buy me lavish gifts
FROM: Yours truly
RE: My future Canon SD800

I’d really like a digital camera. 10,000 bonus cool points for the person who succeeds in making my wish come true! ;)

In lieu of not having a camera, I stole a few pictures from Drew’s blog. The entire evening was absolutely awesome…of course one couldn’t expect anything less from Jeannie Savage and Details Details, event coordinator extraordinaire! Jeannie and Carolyn Chen from The Special Day worked together planning the party for Carol Poon, B&B’s Editor-In-Chief. The evening’s guest of honor was Preston Bailey and the entire party was decked out in his signature style…like I said, it was pretty amazing. And to make things even sweeter, Good and Gracious catered the event, and Peter Papadapolous was spinning on the ones and twos!

Here's a sample of Preston's funky, cool designs...

Drew and me...

From L-R: Lester Ip (whose wife, Vivian, runs the fabulous Paper Girl), JD (whose name tag read: JD Star...how funny! I bet he didn't think it was marrying into my middle name!!) and Chuck (Drew's husband)

Drew, me and Jeannie

Me and Lauren HIllary, Orange County's fearless PUG leader (I stole this picture from her blog too!)

I am so honored to have been a small part of such a phenomenal bridal magazine. Bride and Bloom is an awesome resource, so if you haven’t checked it out already, do so today!

It's Better to Give...

We sat and laughed…and ate. Filet mignon, tiger prawns, sweet asparagus, lobster bisque, a vine-ripened tomato salad. The waves ebbed against the Hawaiian shore, as if rubbing elbows with someone rich and beautiful. One by one, the guests at my reception stood in the center of our Kahala Mandarin bungalow and delivered an impromptu speech, roasting JD and me on our wedding day. It was truly moving and unconventional…and everything I dreamed our wedding should be. As guests dried their eyes after each speech, and the dinner china was cleared, JD and I thanked our guests for joining us for our intimate destination wedding. Caught in the sheer gravitas of the moment, I cried uncontrollably. Everyone sitting around us had witnessed our relationship blossom into a marriage, and without them, we wouldn’t have been the couple standing before them pledging the rest of our lives to each other.

Just when I thought the evening couldn’t get any better, my amazing wedding photographer--David Jay--placed his laptop at the head of our grand table and displayed my wedding slideshow. The lights were dimmed as DJ’s work was displayed, and everyone was truly in awe of his talent and abilities. We simultaneously oohed and ahhed over each image and couldn’t believe how hard he worked to show us our wedding day from a photographic perspective. It was unbelievable.

Unbeknownst to me, David Jay was setting a standard I would soon emulate. As a wedding photographer, I prepare a wedding slideshow for my clients to show during their reception. While guests are eating dinner, JD and I are working on a slideshow to display later that evening. These slideshows have revolutionized the way my business has grown. During last Sunday’s wedding, the general manager of Yamashiro passed by the slideshow and asked to use the images for wedding publicity and an upcoming bridal show the restaurant is hosting. In addition to the images, I offered to provide 8x10 promo cards for their use. My good friend and talented photographer, Sara France designed promo templates for our online print lab, Pictage, and decided to share them with other photographers. They’re awesome resources to give to vendors because they’re specific to their needs and venue or business. I learned that giving back to industry peers yields ten-fold…not only is it better to give than to receive, vendors—much like anyone else—appreciate a gesture of kindness. I learned this little nugget of gold from [b]ecker…who learned it from watching his good friend Jim Kennedy (who runs a powerhouse photography business here in Orange County).

I’m blessed and amazed to see how willing so many photographers are to help each other. The foundation of my business is comprised of mortar from many other photography business cornerstones and I’m indebted to their knowledge. I hope this structure continues to feed off itself and challenge me to help others as much as I’ve been helped along the way. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people!!

**Here's a sample promo card I put together today...if you're a photographer and would like more information, contact the friendly people at Pictage and they'll hook you up!** :)

The Polo Update: Keeping the Dream Alive

This afternoon I was greeted by JD at our front door with a cool little gift...although the Lakers are done for the season, I've just discovered that Polo is keeping the dream alive for next year! :)

JD discovered a dog boutique by our home and has become a canine shopper extraordinaire...we know we have issues. We've accepted that we may be a little crazy buying our dog organic food, bedazzled leashes, and a Lakers jersey, but like I said, we've accepted it ;)

Meet Ginger

Being a good friend is hard word. Being a good friend to someone who fears her mother is dying is saintly.

I have nothing but fond memories of my undergrad years at Whittier College, most in part to the group of fabulous friends I made. There was a group of about 12 of us who lived together in a college suite and we made our collegiate lives so much more enjoyable and joyful. We still stay in contact with each other—even though most of us have moved from California—so when one of my best friends announced she was planning to visit from her Hawaiian home, the remainder SoCal nucleus gathered together for a night of good food, laughter, and lots of catching up.

Two of my friends in particular, Lauren and Ginger, became pillars during the absolute worst time in my life. My mother was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer my junior year of college and it turned my world upside-down, inside-outside, and backwards. I was only 20 years old when my father said we had to start thinking about funeral arrangements. Needless to say, I was in such a state of mourning and inner turmoil…but my friends were always there for me. They came and celebrated my mother’s birthday when she was completely bald and going through horrible chemotherapy and I don’t think I can ever put into words how thankful I was to have them in my life.

When Ginger emailed a few weeks ago and asked if she could stay with me during her visit, I was more than happy to oblige. During her stay, we had an impromptu photo session…I tried my best, but I don’t think I could adequately capture her beautiful spirit and caring soul. I’m so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life at varying stages—who I was, who I am, and who I will become is merely an amalgamation of the imprints my friends have left on my heart.

They're Made for Walkin'

You’re not wearing those again, are you?

JD asked this question, but already knew the answer. Yes. Yes, I was wearing my orange suede cowboy boots to my engagement session today. And? And JD hates those boots—he hates them with a hate reserved usually for puppy-kickers and Milli Vanilli. I, however, have worn the same boots to almost every shoot and love them. I love them for their tackiness, for their originality, and for their splash. They were a gift from my mother when she visited Italy and while I disliked them initially, they’ve grown on me.

I think the boots are ingenious. They are perfect for all types of terrain and ideal when I shoot on the beach because I don’t have to worry about sand creeping into the crevices of my toes. Ingenious!

Today, while on the shoot, my couple decided to splash around in the chilly water. Not wanting to miss each moment, I debated soaking them entirely. Just as I was going to submerge them, Carli (my future bride), screamed Noooo!. Apparently, she likes my style…and my orange suede boots.

So, it appears that JD will have to continue to see me don my chic shoes for a bit longer. They’re covered in sand and slightly wet, but they’re still alive and kickin’. And when JD asks why I’m still wearing them to engagement shoots, I’ll obnoxiously reply, “Because they’re made for walkin’…and that’s just what I’ll do…I’m gonna walk all over you!”

Joe Photo Fashion

I saw him from a distance, his blond hair shimmering in the sun. As he drew closer, there was no denying it was him. Dressed to the nines in a tailored black suit, a perfectly-knotted, orange silk tie, and a white dress shirt (complete with orange accent-stitching, and silver cuff links), he offered a radiant smile. The kind of smile that belongs on a Colgate commercial. I, on the other hand, returned a smile that looked like it belonged to the 4th grader who forgot how to spell ‘pig’ during a spelling bee.

We embraced as soon as we were close enough and exchanged pleasantries. Joe Photo has been a photographer I’ve admired for quite a long time. I’m not quite sure how we initially met—perhaps via [b]ecker, or at a party Rita hosted—but he’s always been genuine and truly kind. We were both at St. John’s to photograph weddings, so it gave us a few minutes to catch up and chat. I, however, couldn’t help but feel foolish standing next to him. Foolish and unfashionable.

Jessica Claire has referred to Joe to as the best-dressed straight man she’s ever met. And, really, I couldn’t agree more. In fact, that’s all I could think about as the sun shone down on his perfectly pressed suit. And his Colgate smile. I really try to put forth an effort looking professional and presentable while I photograph a wedding, but comfort does play a lethal role in choosing a proper outfit (I’m on my feet for 8-10 hours…how cute can one really look?!). I thought I found a middle ground…that is, of course, until I saw Joe. His outfit was so nice that I felt the urge to stick my hand out and say, Alms…alms…alms for the tacky-and-unfashionable-photographers-of-America…alms…

It wasn’t until I read his blog—and saw the following pictures he photographed for David August—that I felt there was still a modicum of vogue-hope left for me:

*You can click here to see his complete post and pictures*

Although this blog entry has been more jest than anything else—and slightly exaggerated…I mean, the sun wasn’t solely shining on his perfect suit…but the Colgate smile…that’s totally true—I really feel like he raised the bar for me. I’ve always dressed nicely to weddings, but I’m going to try to be a little more feminine and classy. I suppose that’s what makes Joe an industry leader…his unique ability to encourage change without saying a word.

Totally Feelin' Blu

So, I woke up to a pleasant surprise this morning….my face on the Blu Domain Blog!?!

Although I was reluctant and totally didn’t feel cool enough to be on their blog, I accepted the interview and had so much fun! A special thanks to Kailee and the amazing team at Blu…to be given a shout-out from such an awesome group of people was totally undeserved, but appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

Taxes, Schmaxes

Today was one of those days. You know, one of those days. Very long and very complicated. On the top of the things that made my day a little hairy, was the fact that I…um…had yet to pay my taxes. Now, if anyone can remember, I was
working on my taxes months ago! I did all that work to avoid exactly what I did today—stand in a verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry long line at the post office. JD actually emailed periodically throughout today to furnish no excuse for NOT getting them in on time:
I know you’re stressed, but just wanna remind you about the taxes….
The taxes! Email when you’ve taken them to the post office.
Please tell me you’ve gone already. Love you.
Jaz, it’s almost five...taxes?

Here’s a picture to prove I made it on time and I paid my country dues…I love being an American! :)

Because Polo was such a good sport waiting in the car while I was in the post office, we went to the park for a little bit. I just had to take a picture of him because he’s growing up so fast…Geesh, I feel so lame saying that!

Tomorrow I’m headed to San Diego for Zack Arias’ One Light Workshop and I’m super excited! I’ll be posting images from the seminar soon!

Fashionably Joyful

I read an article about a man’s greatest joy. He described this joy in such a profound way that I had to read it three times over to make sure I gleaned what I should. I envied him. I envied his ability to make me read his words again and again, making me long for his ability to describe something so visibly.

His greatest joy? Seeing his words in print. His stories, his books and commentaries were the driving force in his life. When he picked up a book and saw words belonging to him, it made him feel alive. No, it made him feel invincible. For the first time in his life, he existed.

At first I thought his explanation was a brightly colored, imaginative narrative, but I think I tasted a little from the chalice from which he drank.

This afternoon, I walked into Barnes and Noble, I picked up the latest copy of Bride and Bloom Magazine. I nervously flipped through the pages until I found my voice. The proof of my existence.

There, on page 49 of the Summer 2007 edition, you’ll find me. I worked on an article for the magazine a while back and seeing it in print is the coolest emotion ever. For a minute, I wanted to turn to the elderly gentleman reading next to me and say, Hey, mister..yes, you…this is ME! I’d manically smile, and he’d respond by nodding his balding head, and turn back to his Walter Cronkite autobiography. But I did none of this. I just waited until I could show JD the magazine over dinner.

The 15-page article is a fashion write-up describing seven types of brides and various wedding accoutrements befitting of their personalities. I’m incredibly thankful for this experience and indebted to the people who helped along the way. A special thanks goes to Rita Hermes for allowing me to work along side her for this project and Carol Poon, Editor-in-Chief of Bride and Bloom, for allowing me to contribute to such an amazing magazine. From the bottom of my heart, thanks for allowing my words to take life.

Woohoo...that's my name! :)

Happy Easter!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter! Every spring I look forward to spending Easter with my family and friends...and today was no exception. This evening was especially nice because JD's family had a special Easter/birthday dinner for me, complete with my favorite strawberries-n-cream birthday cake aaaaand a new Isabella Fiore purse. Woohoo! It was a totally undeserved, but oh-so-appreciated ;)

Here are a few pictures from my birthday (JD, Polo, and I went to the park after my soiree at Burke Williams), and we'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter and thank God for His many blessings...

27 Good Fridays

I’m going to keep this short today.

I’m so incredibly thankful. Today is Good Friday, but it’s also my birthday. On this day, thousands of years ago, Jesus Christ sacrificially died to give me life. For this, I am so thankful and extraordinarily happy to share this special day with someone who is my everything.

Today JD and I will spend the day relaxing (I suspect Burke Williams is on the birthday itinerary!), eating all of my favorite food…and not counting calories. Because food is fat free on your birthday, didn’t you know?

Tonight we’ll go to church, then go out for a delicious dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. It’s a simple birthday, but I’m a simple girl. A simply thankful girl.

The Art of Blogging

A few days ago, my good friend [b]ecker launched his ‘new and tasty’ blog. If you haven’t checked it out by now, you totally should. His work is fabulous, but beyond that, his personality shines past the sleek interface and allows the viewer to connect. It’s awesome! Here’s a link: the [b]log.

I’ve been thinking about blogs lately and their dynamic within the art world. During the days of Romantic art, artists like Rafael and DaVinci surrounded themselves with colleagues to discuss their work and engage in dialogue to further push their movement. Similarly, Picasso and Matisse—although widely considered each other’s nemesis—surrounded themselves with peers who helped them strive for better work (and outdo what the other person had just produced!). Often times, these groups were based on geographic proximity, more than anything else.

So much yet so little has changed since then. I consider blogs to be the new forms of dialogue, albeit heavily unidirectional, and have formed pseudo art groups, if you will. Nothing will substitute conversations in realtime, but blogs are truly pushing this industry in the right direction! I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a blog-a-holic. I began reading blogs while in college and it’s become a leisurely past time for me. Not only do I subscribe to a plethora of photography blogs, I subscribe to many others related to law, literature…and, yes, celebrity gossip ;)

I know I can’t list every photography blog I visit, but here are a few I frequent…each author strikes a chord with me for a myriad of reasons—inspiration, humor, technique—so I hope you find some of them just as amazing as I do!

Here are a few links (in no particular order)…
Gary Fong
David Jay
Mike Colon
Liana Lehman
Jessica Claire
[b]ecker
Boutwell Studio
Image Is Found
Jessica Strickland
Holritz
Fred Egan
Shyla
Amelia Lyon
Trista Lerit
Cameron Ingalls
Amy Nave/Albumesque
Bumatay
Jose Villa
Jesh De Rox
Anne Ruthmann
Bebb blog
Sara France
Luke Walker

Okay, that’s quite a list! I’m quite sure I missed a few, so I’ll update this list as it comes to mind. Again, there are many more blogs I visit, but these just kinda always stick out to me. They're my proverbial think tank…and though some don’t even know I exist, they’ve left an indelible impression. So, thank you.

Lastly, I’ve got to give a little love to Blu Domain’s Blog. It’s a totally fun and eclectic mix of photos, new photographers, and Kailee’s newest man crush. Be sure to check it out! Speaking of Blu, I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely people who run the organization on the WPPI Tradeshow Floor. I stole the following pictures from their blog...here I am with the Bebb's (Jen Bebb won the Blu Party Bowling Tournament...I think I'm gonna ask for lessons!)

And this funky picture is from the Blu Bowling Party...with the gorgeous and talented Jessica Claire and Sara France...and, yes, it sure was HOT in The Palms Hotel Suite! :)

Infidelity

I’ve always considered myself a good girl. A loyal girl. Monogamy is something precious and the cornerstone of a healthy relationship. I’ve always thought that nothing could come between JD and me, but another male has entered my life and now my love is torn in two. I know this blog isn’t the place to talk about love triangles, but I need to come clean.

When I landed at LAX—coming home from WPPI—JD pulled curbside and jostled my bags into the trunk. Then I saw him. Not JD, I saw him. The thing I’ve always desired in a relationship finally came to fruition…he sat in the passenger seat and looked at me with gazing, beady eyes, licked his lips and shook the hair on his chest. Yes, he’s hairy. As in covered in hair.

I’ve wanted a dog for months. No, years. I’ve wanted a dog for years. I’m home a lot on my own and it can get lonely, so I’ve begged JD to open his heart (and…ahem…his wallet) and buy me a furry friend. Well, it looks like my waiting days are over. I couldn’t be more excited!!!

I was practically in tears bringing him home because he’s the most precious dog in the world. No, really, he’s the cutest thing ever. Like dog model cute. And he’s a canine genius. Sure, he runs into walls and can’t jump off our bed, but behind his perky ears lay the next big thing to challenge National Geographic’s, The Dog Whisperer.

Today we spent the entire day together running errands—the people at the Canon Service Center in Irvine just loved him, the office workers at the post office cooed over his docile posture as he lay in my arms, and the baristas at Jamba Juice threw in a free wheat grass shot for me…people, the dog is my new lucky charm.

So while my monogamous days are over, JD is okay with my new dispersal of love. I mean, with one look from this puppy, he’d melt anyone’s stone heart.

Unfaithfully Yours,
Jasmine*

WPPI Update

Whew. I'm tired. Things have been go-go-go since I arrived, but that's pretty much how WPPI goes every year, right?
Sunday night, after a full day of Shootsac-ing, a group of us headed over to Sara France, Lauren Hillary, and Anna Costa's "Super Swanky Soiree" at the Bellagio. The room was packed with people, but it was great meeting new people and catching up with old friends. Here's a picture of me with my very good friend and personal wedding photographer, David Jay

I didn't bring my own camera (can you believe I don't own a point-and-shoot camera?!?...hint, hint...my birthday's coming up soon!), so I snagged pictures from DJ's and Liana's blogs.
One of things I like best at WPPI is rooming with new people...Liana and I have been roomies for pretty much everywhere I've gone, but this year it was nice to meet Roseanna and Chanel...

Yesterday I helped out Liana with her WPPI presentation--which went super well!--then headed off to help Mike Colon for his tradeshow floor presentations, then ended my day helping Jessica with the Shootsac again. In the evening, Liana and I went to the Champagne Shootout to assist Mike with the shoot and because his model didn't show up, he had to use his new intern (and our roommate), Roseanna, to model for the demonstration. Liana and I ran back to our room to grab a few outfits for her to change into...and we also grabbed her bikini! :) At first Mike was shocked--literally--when she stepped onto the stage in her tiny two-piece, but things worked out totally well!

If Mike wins again this year, Liana and I decided to take all the credit! :D

After the Shootout, we went to the BluDomain party with Mike. The party was held at the Palms Hotel in the Bowling Suite and everyone had a great time! There was this cool photobooth at the party, so of course we had a little fun...

I'll try to post more, but I'm off again!

Viva Las Vegas

Well, I'm in Las Vegas for WPPI until Thursday...woohoo! My internet access is limited, but I'll be staying on top of it as much as possible.

Today I hit the ground running! Jessica Claire, [b]ecker, Marisa, Keats, and myself totally turned the Shootsac booth upside down. Jessica's bags were the hottest item on the conference room floor and the feedback was amazing...I mean, they're so cute, how could they NOT be getting rave reviews?!

Wish me luck while I'm out here...I'm not a gambler in any way, but there's this HUGE slot machine that I have to pass everyday in the Paris Hotel lobby that beckons me the way sirens used to lure drunken sailors out to sea. It sings to me and the thought of hitting one big win is enticing! :)

Colonel Ironarm

Ah yo fahnilly done with dem two? The man stood just off the path and asked me this question as if we had been friends for years. He spoke with a southern twang, as if the words from Zora Neale Hurston’s book Their Eyes Were Watching God sprung up off the pages and drifted into the cold air that stood between us. I looked around to make sure he was speaking to me. I had just finished an engagement session and parted ways with the couple, and while I noticed the homeless man watching me throughout the shoot, I didn’t think he would stop and talk to me.

Yes, I’m finally done with them! We had such a great time.
Then, out of nowhere, he asks, Yo wahna be mah screen savah? Here, lit meh sho yo… The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a cell phone. He asked again if I wanted to be his screen saver. I agreed only on the condition that I’d be able to take his picture as well.

So there we stood. Two strangers from very different worlds capturing each other through the same medium.

In his shopping cart were blankets and clothing and what I assume are the only things belonging to his identity. I asked him his name. Mah name’s Colonel Ironarm, he said with a proper salute, leaving his right arm diagonally extended just long enough for me to know he had plenty experience saluting. He went onto to explain that he served in the Navy during Vietnam and, he guesses, fell onto some hard times when he got back to the States. We spoke for a few minutes. Once the rain began to fall a little harder, I said I better get going. I fished for whatever cash I had and told him to get something hot to eat. He thanked me profusely then said, Ah nevah got yo name…was yo name? I told him my name and said it was honor to shake a man’s hand who defended this country with honor.

When I finally got to my car, I shook the rain droplets from my hair, but had a harder time shaking off the sense of melancholy that rested so heavily on my shoulders.

I usually keep this blog politics free, but I just want to remind people the next time you see a soldier or a serviceman, be sure to thank them. Regardless of the issues belying the war in Iraq, there are women and men who are fighting to protect and reserve our freedoms to both support and oppose the war. What a beautiful thing.

Colonel Ironarm, even though you’ll never read this, thank YOU for your service to this country…

A Soolip Wedding 2007

I can't believe how happy I am today. And for more than just one thing...
Last Thursday I had a case--a horrible case--of food poisoning and it lasted pretty much until early this morning. I was desperately hoping my sickness would recede today because I was invited to showcase my work at A Soolip Wedding Bridal Event in Los Angeles at Social Hollywood. Angelica, owner of the wonderful Green Weddings, asked me to display my work at her booth and I was extremely fortunate to do so. I had the pleasure of meeting SO many fabulous vendors, colleagues, and prospective clients...it was a truly spectacular event! I took my camera along to document portions of my day and while I wish I was able to snapsnapsnap away, I was only able to sneak away for a few minutes at a time.

Here are a few of my favorites...
E! and the Style Network covered the event. Jessica, a stunning Style Network host, interviewed Angelica at our table...

Wanda Wen, owner and creative director of Soolip, went above and beyond carefully crafting the gorgeous event...here's the Soolip table

Yummm...the Vanilla Bake Shop put together a pretty spead of delicious cupcakes

As a key sponsor of the event, Los Angeles Wedding Magazine spread a little love...

The lovely ladies at Jo Malone had a beautiful set-up and set the entire room ablaze with intoxicating scents and fragrances

A classic and stunning table from BBJ Linen

I couldn't stop taking pictures of this table...I loved it! Laurel and Party designed it and the lovely Carissa from jl.designs.com, provided the floral arrangements

Probably the most breathtaking table of the event belonged to Asiel Design. Everything was over.the.top. Literally. Everything under a pink trellis was spectacular--the hanging flowers, the lanterns, the vines--and the AD crew was just as kind and warm as could be...

To see more images, CLICK HERE for a Soolip slideshow!

If you'd like to see other pictures of the event, be sure to check out Jules Bianchi's Blog. She was lucky enough to walk through the event as a spectator...who just so happens to be a wonderful photographer and good friend of Wanda's :) Her stuff is awesome, so check it out!
A special thanks to Angelica for the invitation, to the many new friends I made, and to the beautiful brides who took the time to get to know me better.
