Tim and Katrina

There was a buzz throughout the Darlington House as people made their way up and down the winding staircase. Typical wedding buzz, but with a slight variation. Call it an English twist.

Tim, an Englishman, and Katrina, a slice of apple pie, serendipitously met in England and fell in love. A few years later, they were getting married in La Jolla, California hosting a beautiful wedding. The morning grey clouds parted—the stratus making way for its cumulous counterpart—and the blue sky sat still. Autumn colored flowers covered every corner of the house and who children ascended the staircase too quickly were gently told, Wotch yoself there, mate!

The wedding, conducted without a traditional officiator, was hosted by scripture readings from friends, personal vows, and the mother of the bride announcing them as husband and wife. It was very unique and touching, as one could tell the value the couple placed on keeping their close friends and family, well, close.

Here are a few of my favorites…
